Roor

Roor is a German glassware company established in the 1980s by German glass blower Martin Birzle. The name may come from the German word for "pipe", "Rohr". Roor primarily makes glass bongs, pipes and smoking accessories. They produce a line of German and US glassware products, the latter through a partnership agreement with Dementia, a company in Southern California, United States.
Roor aims to produce pipes that are simple, durable, and functional.Template:Cite needed A trademark Roor design element is a "squiggle" (milleflora) on the base of a pipe in colored glass and their products generally feature a signature marking the designer. Roor often uses Borosilicate glass, specifically Schott-brand Duran glass (also known as Pyrex) making them very hard, resistant to high temperatures and sudden temperature changes, very chemically inert, and therefore unlikely to break. Roor pipes usually feature a three piece design, with a small "hitter" pipe that fits via ground glass joint into a downstem, which itself fits via ground glass joint into the main pipe. These ground glass joints are said to improve a pipe's quality, providing a positive seal without the use of gaskets that degrade with use and are difficult to clean, and also may react with chemical cleansers or under the duress of heat produced by the pipe.Template:Cite needed
